Dr. Joseph P. Housel began his studies at Binghamton University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After graduating, Dr. Housel went on to work at the University of Rochester before returning to medical school. Dr. Housel graduated summa cum laude from the University of Buffalo Medical School. While attending medical school, he also received a Master's Degree in Business Administration, graduating with honors. He completed his internship at the University of Rochester before returning to Buffalo, NY. While there, he completed a clinical and research fellowship in cutaneous oncology and photodynamic therapy at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. Housel returned to the University of Buffalo to receive specialty training in dermatology and was selected as chief resident during his final year. After completing his residency, Dr. Housel was chosen for the prestigious Mohs micrographic and reconstructive fellowship at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute under the direction of Dr. Nathalie Zeitouni.

Dr. Housel specializes in Mohs and reconstructive surgery.
