In this case, the Mixed Nodular and Infiltrative Basal Cell Carcinoma Cancer was completely removed with MOHS Surgery. The Interpolation Flap was chosen because it allowed for protection of the ear while maintaining blood supply, as the flap is temporarily connected to the ear. This prevented displacement or changes in ear shape. In this case, the patient returned 3 weeks post surgery to perform the second stage; a Takedown. At this time the pedicle was detached from the ear, and the patient continued to heal following the takedown. This technique preserves the function and cosmetic appearance of the face.
