Procedure Details

In this case, the Squamous Cell Carcinoma has been completely removed with MOHS Surgery. A Pull Through Interpolation Flap was chosen. This allows the skin and cartilage to be protected and well vascularized, as the flap is still connected behind the ear. It prevents displacement and changes in ear shape. In this case, the patient returned 3 weeks post operative to perform the second stage; a Takedown. The pedicle behind the ear was detached at this time. The patient continued to heal following the takedown.
